Sveti Vlas is an excellent starting point to the SIGHTS IN THE REGION, which can make your holiday even more satisfactory.
• The old town of Nessebar – ‘The Bulgarian Ravena’ – is an architectural and archeological reserve, listed in UNESCO (15 min by car or bus)
• Sozopol is famous for more than 180 houses, dating from mid XVIII century and the beginning of XIX century (70 min by car or bus)
• The Ropotamo Reserve is situated 12 km to the South of Sozopol - the marvelous forest by the riverside and the amazing water lilies. (90 min by car to the South of the coast)
• Folk traditions in the region – several villages in this region have preserved their traditions during the years –Medovo (15 km, folklore complex with real crafts shops and masters and a restaurant); Bata (30 km, restaurant with authentic fire-dancing show); Erkech (35 km, folklore complex with evening program); Brashlyan (90 km, 76 houses monuments of culture, ancient church, monastery school, open and covered ethnographic museums)
• Aladzha Monastery is a unique monument, cut into the rocks of a beautiful site, just 14 km away from Varna (60 min by car to the north)
• The city of Varna hosts the only Dolphinarium on the Balkan Peninsula - one of the most amusing attractions of the city (70 min by car, to the North)
• Balchik is most famous for its University Botanic Garden, the cactus collection, the Architectural Park –‘Dvoretsa’ and the recent excavation of the Mother Goddess Kibela Temple (120 min by car, to the North)
• Village of Zheravna is a world famous architectural reserve with more than 200 preserved wooden houses built-up during the Bulgarian Revival, some of them more than 300 years of age. (120 min by car, to the North-West)
